Nobel Peace Prize downgraded

The Nobel Peace Prize has been downgraded from neutral to waste. The rating agency has decided after an updated analysis of the nominees.

Adolf Hitler was nominated in 1939. Other nominees included Joseph Stalin and Benito Mussolini. Yasser Arafat, Jimmy Carter, and Wangari Maathai - a Kenyan ecoterrorist - became winners.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's here.

were nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. How do the Norwegian lawmakers justify such an incredible absurdity?

  • “A prerequisite for winning the Nobel Peace Prize is making a difference, and Al Gore has made a difference,” Conservative Member of Parliament Boerge Brende, a former minister of environment and then of trade, told The Associated Press.

That's nice but how does this explanation emphasizing the "difference" agree with the nomination of Sheila Watt-Cloutier, an Inuit I've never heard about who has 5 times less Google hits than your humble correspondent? What difference has she made? Is riding a dog sled enough?

Moreover, before the explanation above could be used to justify the nominations listed in this article except for Ms Watt-Cloutier who was treated separately, the Nobel Peace Prize would first have to be renamed to

  • the Nobel Prize for Influential Mass Killers, Annihilators of Economies, Terrorists, Econuts, and Imbeciles.

Sounds pretty good. ;-)

Lindzen on CNN

Prof Richard Lindzen of MIT debated Dr Heidi Cullen and Bill Nye, a mechanical engineer and a TV clown, on
The clown tried to criticize Lindzen's science but King warned him: "Lindzen's from MIT, he knows what he's talking about". Nye backed down. Prof Lindzen has found out that the catastrophic global warming theorists were like little kids locking themselves in dark closets to see how much they can scare each other and themselves.
