Eighteen hardcore AGW alarmists threaten U.S. Congress

How many climate alarmists are there among the U.S. climate scientists? If you count those who are ready to chastise the members of the U.S. Congress, the answer turns out to be eighteen. The Hill brings us the full text of their letter:

Scientists ask Congress to put aside politics and take 'fresh look' at climate data
The word "deniers" only appears thrice in the letter. Michael Mann, Kevin Trenberth, Ben Santer, and 15 of their "peers" need this word in order to demand that the representatives deny the existence of climate skeptics.

The climate deniers are "selectively critiquing aspects of mainstream climate science," we learn. When it comes to the selection, we may also read this seemingly wise sentence:
There are no Democratic or Republican carbon dioxide molecules; they are all invisible and they all trap heat.
Well, climate dioxide molecules are neither Democrats nor Republicans. But correct me if I am wrong - it just happened, surely by a complete coincidence, that all the authors of this rant are actually Democrats, and many of them are politically extreme enough to make Osama bin Laden look moderate in comparison. Again, just a complete coincidence.

Because they mention "selection of aspects of climate science", let me just kindly mention that every single molecule of CO2 traps heat but every single molecule of CO2 at nonzero temperature emits thermal radiation, too.

In fact, it's just a subtle imbalance - that only exists because of the nonzero lapse rate (decrease of temperature with altitude) - that allows the molecules of CO2 in the atmosphere to absorb slightly more heat than what they emit.

Note that James Hansen hasn't participated in the process. He belongs to a different "clique of friends".

Meanwhile, some of the U.S. representatives are trying to strip Obama's administration of its power to regulate greenhouse gases while Newt Gingrich is working to abolish the EPA altogether.

Two years ago, the same Newt Gingrich was sitting on a couch in front of the U.S. Capitol together with Nancy Pelosi as both of them were stars of a heart-breaking alarmist commercial paid for by one of Al Gore's groups. I wonder how much money Gingrich had received for the ad.

Megathief and failing blogger Al Gore told Bill O'Reilly that near record snow in New York and elsewhere is "completely consistent" with global warming, much like any other phenomenon. This opinion was confirmed by a female climate crackpot on MSNBC. Well, if that's the case, it means that the definition of global warming is consistent with the proposition that "nothing special is happening at all".

By the way, a very funny thing. The link from the beginning of the previous paragraph was also posted on Matt Drudge's website. And the website of the inventor of the Internet collapsed as a consequence. ;-) (Thanks to Marc Morano.)
